Experienced Compassionate Fair

The Illinois Supreme Court appointed Judge Linda Sackey to serve as an at-large circuit judge on December 11, 2024. She now seeks election to the vacancy in the March 2026 primary and in the November 2026 general election. Serving as a circuit judge blends Judge Linda Sackey's broad legal knowledge and ability with her longtime commitment to public service. As a judge, she attempts to balance accountability and mercy.
After graduating from Lane Tech High School, Judge Linda Sackey attended Princeton University, where she majored in Sociology and received a certificate in African American studies. She obtained her juris doctor from the University of Chicago Law School. Judge Linda Sackey has varied legal experience that spans nearly two decades, having worked in private practice, for the Illinois Attorney General's Office, and in the chambers of the chief justice of the Illinois Supreme Court.
Judge Linda Sackey was born in Chicago, Illinois, to parents who immigrated from Ghana. She is a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. In her free time, Judge Sackey loves to travel (she has visited more than a dozen countries), salsa dance, exercise, and explore Chicago's dining scene. She is also a Bears fan through thick and thin.
